We propose a walking tour accompanied by a qualified guide who at the sunset will show you not only monuments but also tell stories and curiosities. The tour ends with a boat excursion that offers you a further vision of Palermo, the port city as it explains its name Panormos.
The route starts from the Piazza dei 4 Canti so called “teatro del sole” with its splendid baroque decorations and the statues of the 4 patron saints of Palermo. A few steps away you can admire the Pretoria fountain called the fountain of Shame and the Palazzo Pretorio called Palazzo delle Aquile. And yet the two UNESCO churches: that of the Martorana famous for the fruit of Martorana and that of San Cataldo with its red domes. Continue along via Discesa dei Giudici towards the ancient Arab quarter of Kalsa. In the heart of the Kalsa is the via Alloro ancient medieval road from which we reach the famous Piazza Marina with the ficus magnoloide, one of the largest trees in Europe. A few meters we will arrive at Porta Felice, one of the two main gates of the city and here we conclude the tour telling you about the history of the 2mura delle cative”.
After the walking tour will start the boat trip along the coast of Palermo to the Queen’s Cave and aperitif at sunset.
